The Living Room!
Trivia
On my way back to Abu Dhabi, I was reading the in flight magazine of Etihad Airways when this news bit caught my attention.
It reported quoting the Amnesty International report that in 2009, there were thousands of executions in China. Iran was a distant second with 388 executions. Wah! These are the two countries which our left parties want us to support and associate with! Of course, compared with the 20 million executed by Stalin, these figures are nothing!
There were 714 documented executions by Governments worldwide excluding China. USA executed 52, while Europe did not execute even one!

News from Tecnimont
When I arrived back from vacation, I heard the good news from Tonino.
Roberto Bertocco is now Managing Director of Tecnimont and Giovanni Sale is now Director in cahrge of all Tecnimont operations except infrastructure. Two great persons whom I have known for decades are now driving this great firm for which I have worked since 1993. I felt very good listening to the news! I wish them both all the success.
Another great news is that my dearest friend and role model, Daniele Marchionini is also back with Tecnimont since 1st May. Welcome back Daniele. We are home!

AGM, Pooram and Another Silver Jubilee
I was planning to reach home before Vishu. But it was not to be.
There was this high level sponsor meetings in Abu Dhabi and all the big shots were here during 12-15 of April I had to stay for it and postpone my journey to 16th.
Linju (Daughter of Ambu and Latha) got engaged to Santosh on 21st. Linju looked great in her bride's attire and Santosh is a perfect match for her. Met many old acquaintances from Porathissery. See more photos here: Linju's Engagement
Sample fire woks on 22nd and AGM on 23rd. Hari and Sreekumar arrived on 22nd evening for Sample fireworks and left after the AGM. Sample
Started operation of Uninor show room on 22nd, in time for Pooram.
Madhu and Shabu came for Pooram. Went to see Matathil varavu for some time, but could not stand the heat wave. Madathilvaravu
It rained a bit around 02.00am on 25th so that the fire works was almost postponed. However they managed to start it around 04.30 am. Kuttu was inside the Thiruvambadi fireworks area helping the workers! Crazy! Would not help his mother to get groceries from Varkey's, but was carrying the big bombs to the pits, alone! Fireworks
28th April was the 25th wedding anniversary of James and Beena. But they decided to celebrate it on 2nd (Sunday) night as it will be more convenient for people. In our case, our jubilee was on a holiday, so we could do it on the same day.
James and Beena had invited only family members for the party. We were the only exceptions. It was a grand party in Joy's palace with singing, dancing and other programs. Beena was looking really beautiful and with Jinu and Jeslin they made a wonderful family. Everyone liked the dance of Vimal! See photos here: Silver Jubilee of James and Beena
On the early hours of 4th Tuesday, I returned to Abu Dhabi and the long grind that lies ahead! Habshan is not an easy place. 150 km away from Abu Dhabi, it is a desert area prone to the sand storms on a daily basis. And at $4.7 Billion, our project is easily one of the largest projects today.
This will be a challenging project by any standards. Let us see how it plays out!
